Thanks to the support of the Site Mobility Team and the Roche Employees› Association (AVR), it has become an integral part of the company’s culture at F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd. In May and June, 629 employees took part in the Bike to Work Challenge. The cycling enthusiasts covered 273,581 kilometres, which corresponds to 39,396 kg of CO2 savings.
As in the past year, the pRAD team cycled into first place with 143 days and 2,373 km, followed by The Pedal Power Rangers with 137 days and 1,652 km, and in 3rd place we have the team Fit@Roche with 134 days and 2,230 km – just brilliant!
Some lucky people won individual and team prizes when the challenge ended. The winners included the Chainreaction team, KAUGummis and the Nimbus 2000 Riders. Stefanie Arnold, Sabine Friedrich, Alexander Reichardt, Susanne Fischer, Martina Bilic and Mandy Baumert took the individual prizes.
We are delighted to inform you that a new service is being offered by Mobility. On appointment, a mobile bicycle service will come to the Basel (Beuggenweglein, corner of Grenzacherstrasse) and Kaiseraugst sites (in front of Building 211). Florian from Fahrwärk repairs your bike while you’re at work. Details, registration and pricing can be found here.
We also received a lot of pictures of the nicest moments again – thank you very much!
At the end of June, the traditional barbecue party at Tavero in Basel was held on a fine summer’s day. The Catering Team did everything possible to make it a pleasant and enjoyable occasion for the numerous bikers.
The Site Mobility Team and the AVR are already looking forward to the next Bike to Work Challenge in 2024 – we are counting on you when it’s time to get back in the saddle!
