Roland Fumagalli, the pensioners’ representative of the AVR, worked as a nursing specialist HF in the Medical Service Basel/Kaiseraugst until 31.10.2022 (33 years), since 1.11.2022 he is retired and is now our pensioners’ representative. Did you previously work at Roche and were a member of the Roche Employees’ Association (AVR)? After you retire, you may continue your AVR membership free of charge. However, this requires your cooperation. Please BE SURE to send an email with your private email address to basel.avr@roche.com. Very important: Roche no longer maintains the addresses of retired AVR members. We therefore urgently need this information and ask you to notify us of any future address changes. If you decide to terminate your membership, we ask that you inform us in writing. Please note that a re-entry at a later stage is not possible.
If you stay in the AVR, you may continue to benefit from numerous advantages:
– Retirees can choose from a catalog with over 60 different offers; you can find the relevant discounts here (Please note, however, that not all offers are also valid for pensioners, which is specified by the respective provider).
– Of course, retirees are also welcome to the annual AVR general meeting.
– The AVR works through its employee foundation boards in the Roche pension fund to maintain and secure pensions from the second pillar.
As mentioned above, if you have any suggestions or questions, you have your own representative who will represent your interests on the AVR board and thus act as a bridge to business life.

Flu Vaccination 2026 for Retirees
As part of this year’s flu vaccination campaign, Roche is once again offering flu shots for retired employees. For the 2026/2027 season, the Efluelda TIV Vaxigrip flu vaccine will be used. This vaccine is specially recommended for individuals aged 65 and older, offering enhanced effectiveness for this age group.

In Basel:
October 26, 2026; 08:00–16:00 (continuous)
Access: Via the turnstile on the street ‘zum Bischofstein’ near Building 10 (see pictures below).
Travel and Parking:
Parking: You may use the Visitor Parking at Building 67. You will need your pensioner ID to enter. Arrival times and the corresponding ramp location can be found via the following link.
Public Transport: Take BVB bus line 34 to the ‘Peter Rot-Strasse’ stop.
New in Kaiseraugst: October 30, 2026; 08:00–16:00 (continuous)
Access: Via the main gate (Hauptpforte) Building 211 in Kaiseraugst.
Location: Vaccinations will take place in the Culinary Store. This is located on the right-hand side, directly next to the entrance area of the main gate Building 211.
Travel and Parking:
Parking: You may use the visitor parking area. Take the elevator up to go directly to the vaccination location in the Culinary Store.
Public Transport: The public bus stop is also located in the immediate vicinity of the main gate Building 211.
Access regulations for Roche pensioners
The PVR has discussed with the company that access to the site in Basel (incl. Building 2, Fit@Roche, Coop shop and UBS branch in Building 11 on the Basel North site) and in Kaiseraugst is possible with the retiree ID card. In addition, three accompanying persons can be taken along (visitor’s pass issued at the gate).

Fit@Roche fitness center
All retirees can now use the two fitness centers in Basel and Kaiseraugst. The half-year subscription costs CHF 350.–, the annual subscription costs CHF 500.– (instead of 600). All information about the fitness center at www.iniciofitness.ch, registration by mail basel@iniciofitness.ch.
