Due to the transfer of Mimoza Achermann to the AVR Executive Board, her position as Site Representative became vacant. Although Carola achieved a very high number of votes in the last elections in 2024, she narrowly missed out on joining the AVR Board. As one of the most-voted candidates, she is now able to succeed Mimoza and assume the role as Site representative. I take this opportunity to introduce Carola in a short interview.
Hello Carola, how long have you been working at Roche and what is your main function today?
I have been working at Roche since 2006; In the first year I was temporarily employed and I have been in a permanent position since 2007.
Today, I work in the PTD organization, more precisely at PTDN-A (Clinical Supply Center), in Business Operations as a Business Administrative Partner. My area of responsibility is very diverse, which I particularly appreciate.
My main tasks include supporting recruitment (e.g., organizing interviews), planning and executing workshops, events, and offsite meetings. It is incredibly gratifying and fulfilling to see that an event has been successfully implemented and that the participants were able to achieve their goals thanks to the good organization.
I am also pleased to contribute my long-standing knowledge in order management and actively support the team with Purchase Orders in myBuy. My goal is to break down administrative hurdles so that my colleagues can focus entirely on our important projects. This is only one part of my diverse activities.
Now to the AVR – How excited are you to be part of the AVR team?
If I had to measure my excitement on a scale of 1 to 10, it would definitely be a 10+.
I am extremely excited to strengthen the AVR team and actively help shape the interests of Roche employees together.
What do you value about the AVR and what is important to you in your role as a Site Representative?
I really appreciate that we have a contact point like the AVR at Roche. Already the knowledge of having a reliable and trusted organisation behind you provides security – and it is precisely this feeling of backing that I want to pass on to my colleagues. In my role as Site Representative, it is important to me not only to listen, but also to show employees genuine appreciation and ensure that their concerns are seen and heard.
As the new AVR Site Representative: Which of your personal strengths do you want to contribute for your colleagues at Roche?
I want to use my strengths specifically both within the team and in cooperation with individual employees.
In the AVR team, I can particularly contribute my skills in the areas of creativity, organization, and team spirit by actively participating in projects and developing new approaches and innovative ideas.
In working with employees, I focus on active listening and empathy to ensure the best possible support and to work together to develop viable solutions.
Dear Carola, it was a pleasure to interview you. It is great to know that the AVR has gained a valuable member in you. I wish you all the best!
